Monday

Brampton Woodworkers Club

The Brampton Woodworkers meet every Monday in The Hut between 09.00pm – 4.00pm

Tai Chi with FionaEvery Monday between 9.45am-10.45am

Tai Chi can help improve balance, coordination and flexibility, ease arthritis, are effective forms of exercise for osteoporosis, and can improve and help balance mood and mental states.  Tai Chi is also great for improving general health and wellbeing, can aid in stress relief, facilitate rehabilitation after many types of illness, provide focus and help to centre your energy on many levels.

Brampton Better Together – Bowling, Boccia and KurlingEvery Monday between 11.00am and 12.40pm in The Hall

A new weekly inclusive group – Brampton Better Together– are running Boccia, Bowls and Kurling classes every Monday between 11.00am and 12.40pm at Brampton Community Centre. For adults or all ages and abilities.  Just £3 per person. Further details here

Irthing Valley Bowling Club

Irthing Valley Bowling Club are at the centre every Monday from 1.00pm-3.00pm in The Hall.

New Therapeutic Yoga ClassEvery Monday at 1.00pm.

We’re delighted to offer a new 4-week Functional Therapeutic Yoga course which runs every Monday at 1.00pm.

The classes are suitable for beginners and anyone with joint issues or muscular aches and pains. These classes are designed to benefit people who want a sensible approach to yoga to counteract the stresses of modern life, learn how to move with ease & get a good night’s sleep. £7 per class. Nicola Ivinson School of Dance

Every Monday from 3.30pm – 8.30pm in The Hall.

The main aim of Nicola’s dance school is to give children the opportunity to learn various dance styles while having fun and meeting new friends. Further details here

Clubbercise and Megamixfit with Emma – Every Monday from 6.00pm – 8.00pm

Clubbercise and Megamixfit with Emma offers Fun DANCE fitness classes IN THE DARK! Complete with Disco lights Glowsticks & 90s music. Feels more like night out!

Megamixfit is a fab class, with music from different genres. We guarantee you be singing and smiling the whole way through! Taught in a darkened atmosphere with disco lights and UV, your going to love the Megamix party. Some of the songs on the playlist include: Tina Turner – Proud Mary; Lady Gaga – Born This Way; The Weather Girls – It’s Raining Men; The Killers – Mr Brightside & Hairspray’s – You Can’t Stop The Beat.

Brampton Arts and Crafts ClubEvery Monday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm

Brampton Arts and Crafts Club are a small club based at Brampton Community Centre. Members use a variety of mediums from oil through to coloured pencils. The club are a friendly bunch who make everybody welcome. Brampton Arts and Crafts Club runs every Monday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

Tuesday

Brampton Woodworkers Club Every Tuesday between 09.00pm – 4.00pm

The Brampton Woodworkers are based in The Hut, our fully equipped workshop at Brampton Community Centre. Membership is open to all adults in the wider community. They work on their own projects, with help and guidance from a fully qualified tutor. In addition to their weekly workshops, they hold social events for members and open days for the public. The Brampton Woodworkers meet every Tuesday between 09.00pm – 4.00pm

Yoga with Hilary

Hilary Watson offers two Yoga sessions with us on a Tuesday. Hilary’s Morning session runs from 10.45am-11.45am and her evening session runs from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

Brampton Community Orchestra

Brampton Community Orchestra have been having weekly rehearsals and giving occasional concerts for the last ten years.  They rehearse every Tuesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.15pm.

This group of local musicians gathers to play all kinds of instrumental music (grade 5/6 and upwards). The music is specially arranged to be challenging, but possible. They always attempt to get the best results, but in a spirit of friendly good humour. If you play an instrument and might be interested in joining, please get in touch with the Orchestra.

Wednesday

Knit & Natter

The Knit and Knatter group are back at Brampton Community Centre every Wednesday from 9.30am until 12noon. The groups would love to welcome new members!  Knit & Knatter costs just £2.50 each week, which includes a drink and a biscuit.  You can bring your own knitting, crochet or sewing project, or you can help make items for various charities with their group wool supplies.  They’re a friendly, sociable group with varying levels of skill – there is always someone to help you out if you are a novice!  

Chojinkai Karate

Chojinkai Karate (pronounced Cho-jin-Kai) is the name of the Wado-Ryu based style of Karate founded in 1974 by their President & Chief Instructor Doug James 8th Dan. From there it has gone from strength to strength to satisfy the demand for high quality Martial Arts tuition in Cumbria and the North of England. There are also very successful Clubs in Cockermouth, Egremont, Haltwhistle, Hexham, Kendal, Newcastle, Workington and Whitehaven. 2014 saw the club proudly celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Chojinkai Karate takes place in The Hall every Wednesday from 5.30pm – 8.30pm. Further details here

Brampton Stained Glass Group meet every Thursday between 7.00pm-9.00pm

Friday

Irthing Valley Bowling Club

Irthing Valley Bowling Club are at the centre every Friday from 6.30pm -8.30pm in The Hall.

Saturday

Monthly Events at Brampton Community Centre this Autumn

Two little ducks…BINGO’s at Brampton Community Centre!  

Bingo has returned to Brampton Community Centre and takes place on the first Thursday of the month at 7.00pm (for a 7.30pm start).  Entrance costs just £1.00, which includes tea/coffee.  Please bring a small raffle prize if you can!

Sustainable Brampton

Sustainable Brampton are set to host free workshop and lunch event on Sunday 26th September. This free event will run from 11am to 3pm at Brampton Community Centre on Sunday 26th September as their contribution to the Great Big Green Week, which is a nationwide event celebrating community action on climate change. 

Café Sci

Cafe Scientifique Brampton is a place where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology.

The next Café Sci takes place on Thursday 30th September with Professor Sarah Bridle presenting via Zoom. Sarah’s talk is entitled ‘Change your diet: the easiest way to help reduce your climate impact’.

Tickets cost just £4.00 per person in advance (plus £0.15 ticket fee + £0.20p processing), or £5 on the door and are available to but online here

Brampton Film Club are showing a screening of the critically acclaimed film Emma on September 18 at 7:30 pm. This lavish production of the Jane Austen’s comedy classic, brings a freshness to the story of Emma’s quest for the love of her life, only to realise what was there in front of her all the time.
