    The talk will discuss all forms of remote sensing used for archaeological discovery including metal detection, Lidar, air and satellite photography, geophysics, ground penetrating radar and multi spectral analysis. It will look at the merits and pitfalls of each technique and their appropriateness of use in different circumstances. Richard will even cover dowsing.

    Join Bee Garden volunteer Eileen who will be talking about how, when, and why the Bee Garden at the Community Centre was established, what they plant, what type of pollinators and insects the plants attract. She will also talk about the volunteers who maintain the garden and the benefits of volunteering.

    GIS is a very important tool for archaeologists. Beyond the public image of archaeologists excavating, much of our work is done at the desk, analysing data to understand past landscapes. This talk will look at some of the ways in which GIS is applied by archaeologists to understand past human behaviour and its influence on the landscape at different scales, from individual sites to regional and national character.
